Program Outcomes (POs)

  • PO1. Analyse the nature and basic concepts of Geography.
  • PO2. Explain the major physical features of the Earth and the ability to locate themon a map.
  • PO3. Demonstrate the knowledge of the concepts and theories of Physical Geology.
  • PO4. Evaluate the formation, use, conservation and management of water resources.
  • PO5. Identify various methods of Survey like Chain Survey, Plain Table Survey andPrismatic Compass Survey.

  • PSO1. Explain Earth’s Origin and its Rotation and Revolution.
  • PSO2. Identify the relevance of Oceanography in earth and atmospheric science.
  • PSO3. Discuss Climatology – weather and climate, Atmospheric Moisture andDisturbances.
  • PSO4. Define relevance of Oceanography in Earth and Atmospheric Science.
  • PSO5. Compute temperature and salinity of Oceans and Seas.
  • PSO6. Analyse circulation of oceanic water, waves, tides and currents.

The students completing this course will be able to:

  • CO4. Demonstrate proficiency in using geographical research tools including Cartography, Remote Sensing, GIS and GPS.

  • CO7.Demonstrate an appreciation and respect for the diversity of perspectives, world-views and cultures.
